All About Bow

Bow is a great place to live and work in and it has a great community vibe.  Plus Bow is the home of skilled crafts people and a vibrant eco-friendly community  and that’s why  we’re, “Boastful about Bow”. So are all the folks featured here in my Little & Large Wedding Venue blog. We love the people, food, culture, buildings and ambience.

And so this website is a tribute to our passion for this lovely neck of London’s woods. Let’s meet at Grounded London, nextish to Bow Church DLR on Mile End Road for coffee and chats. Or meet some of Bow’s best Suppliers or Experience Creators face to face at our first Wedding show.

Settling in BOW

Still standing after all these years, Bow has a growing range of studio, one and two bedroom flats embedded in some of the most characterful houses around for sale.

And to my delight developers of all persuasion have snapped up some of these left  empty factories and have turned what’s left of their structure into eloquent, spacious homes.

Of course there’s still popular classic, Victorian, four-floor (including the basement)  houses also for sale.

Escaping Bow?

There’s a time for everything including a second home away from sunny Bow; if  you can afford it. Click on the Tiny House link for more information. By the way I’ve wondered through this really spacious tiny house and I’m seriously considering taking out a loan to buy one; as they say seeing is believing.

Finding Love in BOW

Journey to the East side of the A12 and you’re still in sunny Bow. This side was the heart beat of industry back in the day but now most of it, up to Hackney Wick and  Queen Elizabeth 11 Olympic park is not only a gigantic building site but also next door to trendy Hackney Wick and Fish Island  which supports over 1000 businesses.

So yes Bow has the right ingredients for love to blossom, to find your perfect love match, your soul mate, your Boo…

Or you could be more strategic and attend one of Georgie’s fun Art / Speed Dating classes at Stepney City Farm. Or go Foraging with total strangers in a cemetery with Ken? Or hang out with Tim and learn wood carving for fun.

Building a Niche in Bow

There are over 1000 businesses in Hackney wick & Fish Island but Bow is snug in the middle of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, home to The Docklands, Canary Wharf, Spitalfields, Petticoat Lane and 3 Mills Island.

Plus it’s a 10 minute tube ride into the West End on the Central Line or  15 minutes on the District Line to Westminster and the Houses of Parliament.
